The last step before moving in
A building can be finished and still not be ready to live in until it is connected to the municipal water supply and sewer line. In Delhi NCR these connections are handled by different bodies depending on the area, such as the Delhi Jal Board in Delhi, or the development authority or municipal corporation in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad. Each has its own application process and document requirements.
Connection applications usually ask for drawings showing how water will enter the building and how waste water will leave it: the supply line, meter position, internal plumbing, inspection chambers, and the connection point to the main sewer. Many also ask for proof that the building has been sanctioned or completed, so this step is closely linked to the completion certificate.
Because we are familiar with the plumbing design, we can prepare these drawings to match what has actually been installed on site. We check the positions of chambers, the sewer outlet and the meter location, and note anything that may be questioned, such as a chamber that is not accessible or a rain water pipe connected to the sewer.
We then compile the application documents, give you a checklist of what the owner must provide, support the submission and follow up on queries or site inspections. The connection is sanctioned and executed by the concerned department as per its own procedures.
